The name applies to the northern portion of “Chesterman” beach (North Chesterman Beach and South Chesterman Beach are “separated” by a sand tombolo, however the current name “Chesterman Beach” applies to both beaches). Note that South Chesterman Beach has a different, distinct name in the Tla-o-qui-aht language (information submitted by Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation, 2025).
