Name changed 11 March 2019 to Bendziny on 93C/1 as recommended by the Tŝilhqot'in National Government and supported by the Cariboo Regional District, BC Parks, and Recreation Sites and Trails. Bendziny is a Tŝilhqot’in name for this lake and refers to the wider locality around the lake. The name is a proper noun and has been in use for so long that a direct translation to English is difficult.
