Caspaco (Post Office & Cannery) adopted 5 April 1927 on C.313, as labelled on BC map 3M, 1916, and on 1918 edition of Hydrographic Chart 313. "Caspaco (not Cassiar) (Post Office, Cannery & Station)" confirmed in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Caspaco (Post Office & Station) 3 April 1952 on 103J. Form of name changed to Caspaco (Station) in the 1966 BC Gazetteer. Name rescinded 20 December 1978 on 103J/1 - this is now the location of Cassiar (Railway Point).

Caspaco Post Office was opened 1 April 1916; closed 29 November 1952; re-opened 1 February 1952; closed 30 April 1954. Station identified as Caspaco in CNR timetables through 1958; station identified as Caspaco Cannery in CNR timetables 1959 & 1960; station identified as Cassiar Cannery in CNR timetable October 1962; station identified as Cassiar in CRN timetables 1965 et seq; station cancelled by 1984.

A hybrid name from Cassiar Packing Company, which company was incorporated 20 January 1902 and established a cannery here; amalgamated to form Prince Rupert Packers Ltd, 10 December 1962; company dissolved 14 Feburary 1963.
