Caspaco Post Office was opened 1 April 1916; Caspaco Station or Caspaco Cannery Station identified interchangeably in CNR timetables through 1960. Cassiar Cannery Station identified in CNR timetable October 1962; station identified as Cassiar in CRN timetables 1965 et seq; identified as Cassiar (conditional stop) in CNR timetable 1981; not identified in CRN timetables 1984 et seq.

Cassiar Packing Company was incorporated 20 January 1902 and established a cannery here in 1903. The post office opened here in 1916, was called Capasco, a hybrid of the name CASsiar PAcking COmpany. Company amalgamated to form Prince Rupert Packers Ltd, 10 December 1962; company dissolved 14 Feburary 1963.
