Origin Notes and History:

Boss Mountain identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer, in association with Boss Triangulation Station established here. Name changed to "Takomkane Mountain" 1 September 1960 on 93A, the local name according to 1957 advice from R.D. McCaw, BCLS, and as labelled on his 1936 map 93A/2, and on BC map 3G, 1949 & 1957. Further changed to Big Timothy Mountain 2 March 1961 on 93A, to reflect entrenched and preferred local usage. (letters August 1957, file B.1.37, and April 1964, file Q.1.60)
