Joffre Lakes Recreation Area established by Order in Council 9, 7 January 1988. Status changed to a Class A Provincial Park to be known as Joffre Lakes Park per Bill 29: Park Amendment Act 1997, 23 July 1997, the whole containing 1,460 ha.
