Joffre Lakes Recreation Area established by Order in Council 9, 7 January 1988. Status changed to a Class A Provincial Park to be known as Joffre Lakes Park per Bill 29: Park Amendment Act 1997, 23 July 1997, the whole containing 1,460 ha. Boundary redescribed per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole containing approximately 1,487 hectares.
