Origin Notes and History:

"Mount Pocahontas" adopted 6 May 1924, as submitted November 1923 by BC Geographic Division and as labelled on Geological Survey map #1321 by R.D. McConnell, 1912 (GSC Memoir 58). Named in association with "Pocahontas Bay" (current official name: lɛχʷamɛn), in turn as identified in 1899 BC Mines Report, p.804. Name changed to šɛtɛqʷan (mountain) 30 September 2025 on 92F/9, as requested by Tla'amin Nation.
