"Siwash" is considered to be a derogatory term, but RCMP acknowledge that as a few residents still use that name, Fish & Wildlife staff could have heard "Siwash" in their c1982 field check. Anahim Band has actively encouraged the use of Anah Lake, and that name is now used by the majority of residents. Origin/significance of "Anah" not provided by Anahim Band.
