Origin Notes and History:

Stupendous Mountain adopted 13 March 1947 on 93SW, as named by Alexander Mackenzie. Application altered 2 July 1953 on 93D, confining the name Stupendous Mountain to the southern peak at 52° 22' x 126° 12'; at the same time, the northern peak on the massif was adopted as Table Mountain. Application altered again 1 November 1979 on 93D/8 when the name "Stupendous Mountain" was shifted to the northern peak at 52° 23' x 126° 12' and the name "Table Mountain" was rescinded.
