Lemon Creek (flag stop) identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer - located on CPR. Lemon Creek (station) adopted 7 July 1955 on Columbia River Basin manuscript 64, as labelled on BC Landds' map 4B, 1946. Form of name changed to Lemon Creek (community) 29 November 1984.

Named in association with the nearby creek of the same name, in turn after Robert Lemon, prominent pre-WW I merchant of Nelson.
