Nancut Creek adopted 15 July 1936 on Geological Survey sheet 630A, Fort Fraser, in association with the Indian Reserve at its mouth.

Labelled "Yi-Ko" on 1898 survey of Indian Reserve by Mr. Devereux, DLS. "This stream, called by the ... Yiko River..." (BC Mines Report 1906, p.113). Labelled elsewhere (BC map 3E ?) as "Cunningham Creek".

This creek continues to be known as Nancut even though the original locality "Nancut", at the mouth of this creek, is now known as Yekooche. (March 1991 advice from Band office)
