Camp Island adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer as labelled on British Admiralty Chart 580, 1865 et seq. Name changed to Subtle Island 27 April 1945 on C.3591, as recommended by Hydrographic Service to avoid duplication (file Q.1.45).
