Origin Notes and History:

Eagle Bay Post Office was opened 1 May 1913, so-named in assocation with the nearby water feature, in turn named for the numerous eagles in the area.

Eagle Bay (Post Office) adopted 3 November 1932, as labelled on BC map 1EM, 1915, and as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Eagle Bay (community) 31 December 1982 on 82L/14.
