Chisholm Peak adopted 25 November 1944 on 94/SW, as labelled on plan 5T324, "Route Traversed by Bedaux Sub-Arctic Expedition" by Frank Swannell, BCLS, 1935; not "Jachisholm" as originally suggested by Swannell.

"...an isolated mountain bounded on the south by a deep valley occupied by a large creek and on the north by a wide trough valley in which lies a large lake. Named after John A. Chisholm, of Inverness, personal attendant to Mr. Bedaux." (Swannell's 27 May 1935 notation on BC name card)
