Established 29 March 2006 per Bill 15-2006: Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, containing approximately 2246 hectares. Boundary redescribed per Bill 10-2009: Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 20 October 2009; the whole now containing approximately 2299 hectares. Name changed to Tplaqín / Enderby Cliffs Park on 31 March 2025 as per Bill 3 - Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 2025.

Tplaqín (pronounced T bla qeen), means “cliff” in Interior Salish. This name change was requested by Splatsin First Nation to better reflect their name for the area, which is a culturally significant location (information provided by BC Parks, 2025).
