"Pahkeeahjim" (Former First Nations Village) adopted per the provisions of the Sliammon Treaty, Appendix W-2, effective 5 April 2016. Spelling changed 5 April 2025 to p̓aq̓iʔaǰɩm (former First Nation village) on map 92K/2, as requested by Tla'amin Nation, 2024.

The name p̓aq̓iʔaǰɩm translates to "place of many maple trees" in reference to the type of trees that favoured that location. This was a very significant traditional use area and is the site of our creation story and numerous archaeological sites (information provided by Tla'amin Nation, 2025).
