"Kwehtums Kahkeeky" adopted per the provisions of the Tla'amin Treaty, Appendix W-1, 5 April 2016, the location identified therein as "Creek on IR 6 Kaykaykay". Spelling changed 5 April 2025 to q̓ʷətəms q̓aq̓ɛyq̓ay (creek) on map 92K/2, as requested by Tla'amin Nation, 2024.

The name q̓ʷətəms q̓aq̓ɛyq̓ay refers to the area from the lake to the mouth of the creek. This water source meanders through the heart of q̓aq̓ɛyq̓ay village and was a water source for the village. This creek and surrounding wetland areas filter our pollution and provide critical habitat for many traditional foods, medicines and materials (information provided by Tla'amin Nation, 2025).
