"...named because of nearby Cypress Creek..." (Dick Culbert's Climber's Guide to the Coastal Ranges of British Columbia, 1965, p.116). [Note that Cypress Creek has since been renamed Roe Creek.]

"Named in 1931 after nearby Cypress Creek." [No evidence in BC files that this peak was named that early; although the creek had long been known as Cypress Creek, the PEAK is not identified in 1931 descriptions of first ascents in the area (Canadian Alpine Journal, 1931, p.60).]
