Origin Notes and History:

Burnaby Strait adopted 7 March 1933 on Geological Survey sheet 278A, as labelled on Francis Poole's 1862 map of Skincuttle Inlet. Name changed 7 January 2022 to G̱aysiiG̱as Ḵ’iidsii on 103B/6 as recommended by The Council of the Haida Nation and supported by North Coast Regional District, Archipelago Search and Rescue, and Canadian Coast Guard.
