Origin Notes and History:

May Creek adopted 3 April 1959 on 82E/SE, as labelled on Geological Survey of Canada map #828, Boundary Creek Mining District, 1905, and on BC Lands' map 1EM, 1915, and map 4K, 1923, and as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer.

Originally "24th May Creek" tributary to "4th of July Creek"... but by 1903 the Lands Dept was using May Creek and July Creek, which is less cumbersome for mapping purposes. Original namer of the creeks is not recorded.
