Origin Notes and History:

"Jididẑay" is the Tŝilhqot’in name for this lake, the name refers to the lake as well as the surrounding areas, as is the Tŝilhqot’in toponymic tradition. The name has been in use for so long that a direct translation to English is difficult. Sometimes called 'Jididẑay Biny' (Advice from Tŝilhqot’in National Government, 2018).
