Kyawats Mountain adopted 10 May 1924 on Geological Survey publication 2038, Kokanee Glacier Park; not "Moore Mountain" as submitted February 1924 by W.H. Boyd, GSC (file K.1.24).

"Moore Mtn" originally proposed by Kaslo Board of Trade, after an old timer; too many duplicates, so Kyawats Mtn was recommended by BC Geographic Division, in association with the nearby creek.
