John Aldrich staked the Iron King mineral claim on 20 July 1905 on or near Henderson Creek, high up on the southern slope of Hudson Bay Mountain. In the summer of 1905 other claims were staked in the same area. Many of these claims went on to be the Duthie mine in the 1920s. (Information from Alan Pickard, local historian, 2019)
