Alexis Creek adopted 30 June 1911 by the Geographic Board of Canada as the official name for this feature. Name changed 11 March 2019 to Tigulhdzin-chi on 93B/3 as recommended by the Tŝilhqot'in National Government and supported by the Cariboo Regional District, BC Parks, and Recreation Sites and Trails.

Tigulhdzin-chi is the Tŝilhqot’in name for this creek meaning 'tail of Tigulhdzin' which refers to the creek that flows out of that lake (Tigulhdzin). Sometimes referred to as "Tish Gulhdzin Yeqox" or the condensed "Tishgulhdzinqox" (Advice from the Tŝilhqot'in National Government, 2018).
