Origin Notes and History:

Established per Order in Council #699, 27 March 1980, containing 86 hectares more or less (formerly part of Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park). Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 50:2004, Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole containing approximately 86 hectares. ER #98. Purpose for establishing this reserve: To set aside productive floodplain forest stands for purposes of research and stock improvement. Ecological Reserves are areas in British Columbia selected to preserve representative and special natural ecosystems, plant and animal species, features, and phenomena. Ecological Reserves provide the highest level of protection for the maintenance of physical and biological diversity while allowing for research and educational activities.
