The applicant for water rights suggested the name Rattlesnake Spring. The traditional Secwepemc name of the nearby hill refers to the presence of rattlesnakes, and stories told by several generations in the area identify the property as a rattlesnake pit; the current owner found 20 rattlers in and around their property in 2013, so the name seems fitting.
