Origin Notes and History:

Musket Island Marine Park established by Order in Council 362, 11 March 1992, containing 3.6 ha. - a small islet off Hardy Island. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation and area expanded to include a portion of Hardy Island, per Bill 17-2000: Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, 29 June 2000; the whole now containing approximately 16.8 hectares. Boundary redescribed per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole now containing approximately 14 hectares. Name changed to Hardy Island Marine Park per Bill 17-2004: Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 21 October 2004, the whole still containing approximately 14 hectares.
