Origin Notes and History:
Gitnadoix River Recreation Area established by Order in Council 2211, 10 December 1986. Re-described per OIC 379/89, the whole containing 58,000 ha. more or less. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation, and name and status changed to Gitnadoiks River Park per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole containing approximately 57,698 hectares. [note that the namesake river is still spelled "Gitnadoix" but the park is now spelled "Gitnadoiks..." ]
