Origin Notes and History:

Westside District Municipality incorporated per Order in Council 653, 4 October 2007, effective 6 December 2007, encompassing the area between Peachland and Bear Creek Provincial Park, including the communities of Gellatly, Glenrosa, Westbank, Lakeview Heights and West Kelowna Estates. Name of municipality changed to District of West Kelowna per Order in Council 35, 29 January 2009. Re-classified as a city per Order in Council 357, 26 June 2015, to be known as City of West Kelowna.
