Chlotapecta Creek adopted 7 July 1953 on 94K as labelled on BC map 1H, 1916. Had been spelled "Chotapecta" on 1913-14 sketch map of NE portion Peace River District; identified as "Chlotapecta Creek (not Chotapeeta Creek)" in the 1930 BC Gazetteer.
