"Sometimes also spelled China Knows Mountain. The name refers to early Chinese migrants who worked on the railroad, who apparently found gold on the mountain. The story tells of how [they] passed-on and nobody knew where the gold was and so people would say 'only the Chinaman knows...'. Over time it evolved into China Knows. The Wet'suwet'en name is Tse Zuhl (pronounced Tsaahh Zuhle), meaning Rock Neck." (information shared February 2005 by Gary R. George, as told by Rita A. George and the late Andrew George Sr., all Bulkley Valley residents of Wet'suwet'en ancestry.)
