Origin Notes and History:

Established by Order in Council 640, 23 March 1956. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 17-2000: Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, 29 June 2000; the whole now containing 335 ha. more or less. Area increased per OIC 522, 18 April 2001 (total size not specified). Boundary redescribed per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole now containing approximately 550 hectares (335 hectares of upland and 215 hectares of foreshore). Boundary description repealed and the park re-established with a new description per Bill 15: Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 19 May 2010, the whole now containing approximately 2544 hectares.
