Origin Notes and History:

Adopted 3 November 2000 on 94E, 94F, 94K & 94L, as proposed by H. Gabrielse, Geological Survey of Canada (file L.1.44); these ranges are distinct from the more subdued, sombre weathering mountains of the rest of the Muskwa Ranges and are characterized by elongate, conspicuous, cliff-forming limestone ridges.

The ranges are bounded by the lower-lying Rabbit Plateau at the north, the prominent valleys that contain Netson Lake and Gataga River on the east-northeast, the South Gataga River and part of McCook River on the southeast, and the northern Rocky Mountain Trench and Kechika River on the west-southwest.
