Origin Notes and History:

"Main Lakes Chain Park" established per Order in Council 589, 30 April 1996, containing 2454 ha. Name changed to Main Lake Park and area increased per Bill 29: Park Amendment Act 1997, 23 July 1997, the whole now containing 3424 ha. Boundary redescribed per Bill 49-2012: Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 31 May 2012, the whole now containing approximately 3530 hectares.
