Established per Order in Council 584, 30 April 1996; area expanded to protect wetlands per Bill 29: Park Amendment Act 1997, 23 July 1997, the whole now containing 333 ha. more or less. Boundary redescribed per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole now containing approximately 353 hectares.
