Albert Canyon (Post Office, Railway Station, Village) adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Albert Canyon (Post Office & Railway Station) 8 September 1932 on 82 N/SW. Form of name changed to Albert Canyon (Locality & Railway Point) 17 October 1966. Name changed to Canyon Hot Springs (locality) 30 August 1984, being the established local name; Albert Canyon (railway point) retained.
