The compound name "Duck Creek (Station) - Wynndel (Post Office)" adopted 9 September 1924 on Canadian Geological Survey sheet 2044, Creston. Name changed to Wynndel (Post Office) 3 July 1947 on Columbia River Basin manuscripts 3 & 4; subsequently changed to Wynndel (community) .
