Horn Lake was adopted 31 January 1983 on 82E/5, referring to the northernmost (lower) of the Twin Lakes. Horn Lake rescinded 22 February 1989 on 82 E/5; although the Twin Lakes are expansions of the downstream portion of Horn Creek, local residents don't call this Horn Lake - it has always been called "Lower Twin Lake"
