Origin Notes and History:

Kelsey Bay (Post Office) adopted 5 April 1938. From of name changed to Kelsey Bay (Steamer Landing) 4 January 1972 on 92K/5. This area incorporated into Village of Sayward when municipal boundary was extended 27 December 1979. From of name changed to Kelsey Bay (Landing) 15 May 1981 on 92K/5. Name rescinded 23 May 1995 at the request of Village of Sayward municipal council: according to Council, this is no longer a separately recognized community or neighbourhood name within Sayward's municipal boundaries (letter, file S.3.44).

Kelsey Bay Post Office was opened 16 January 1926 at north end L304, Sayward District; Imogene (Mrs. William) Kelsey first postmistress. Post Office relocated 8 December 1962 to south end L304; closed 30 June 1970 when Sayward Post Office was established almost next door.
