Origin Notes and History:

The Elbow (river bend) adopted 7 July 1955 on Columbia River Basin manuscript #35 as an established local name. Rescinded 11 March 1974 - this sharp bend in the river has been obscured by creation of Kinbasket Lake (reservoir) behind Mica Dam.
