Origin Notes and History:

Alvaston Post Office opened 1 October 1909, located at the junction of CNR and CPP lines. So-named by postmaster A. Chatterton after a place in England. Alvaston Post Office closed 31 March 1919. Winfield Post Office opened here in 1948.
