Crescent Spur (Post Office & Station) adopted 12 March 1965, as long-identified in post office and railway records, and as identified in the 1953 BC Gazetteer. Form of name changed to Crescent Spur (station) October 1970. Form of name changed to Crescent Spur (locality) 15 December 1982.

Crescent Island (station) identified on pre-emptor's map, 1915, named by CNR in association with the nearby island in the Fraser River; subsequently renamed by CNR Crescent Spur (station). Crescent Spur Post Office was opened 29 December 1944; closed 21 July 1969; re-opened 15 January 1975; closed 9 March 1977, etc.
