Origin Notes and History:
Name rejected 28 May 1963, as air photograph BC 1819 #59 shows only marsh in this vicinity (file A.1.61). Adopted 9 December 1975 on 83D-C, as identified in Water Rights file 0249269, 3 May 1975: "...unnamed creek flows west and discharges into muskeg eventually into Cranberry Lake."

Cranberry Lake - a much larger feature - was labelled on BC map 3H, 1919; later drained and divided into lots (description of subdivision in 1924, received October 1975, file A.1.61). "Cranberry Marsh" mentioned in newsletter of Federation of BC Naturalists, November 1970, Vol 8, No 24.
