Origin Notes and History:

Wasa Park was established per Order in Council 2391, 4 October 1954, containing 133 acres more or less. Area increased per OIC 1483, 24 June 1960, and per OIC 1510, 1 June 1964, the whole now containing 347 acres. Parks Branch survey plan, issued September 1983, is titled "Wasa (Hansen) Lake Park". Parks Branch survey plan, issued October 1983, is titled "Wasa Lake Provincial Park. Name formally changed to Wasa Lake Park per OIC 1418, 15 September 1990, the whole containing 144 hectares more or less. Conversion of OIC to Statute designation per Bill 17-2000: Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, 29 June 2000; the whole containing 144 ha. more or less. Boundary redescribed (there are 5 parcels surrounding Wasa Lake) per Bill 50-2004: Parks and Protected Areas Statutes Amendment Act, 17 May 2004; the whole now containing approximately 154 hectares (135 hectares of upland and 19 hectares of foreshore).
