Babine Mountains adopted 2 April 1918 (Mountains of Western Canada, 1918), as labelled on BC map 1H, 1917. Identified as "Babine Mountain Range" in the 18th Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, 31 March 1924; listed in 1930 BC Gazetteer as "Babine Mountains" as originally adopted. Name changed to Babine Range 5 July 1951 on 93 L.
