"Lizard Lake (not Dalziel Lake)" was adopted in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Name changed to Liz Lake 27 April 1945 on C.3591. Rescinded 2 November 1950 on 92F.

Three discrete lakes (Lois Lake, Gordon Pasha Lake and Liz Lake) were flooded when the Scanlon Dam across Lois River was completed in 1950; the resulting single waterbody to be called Lois Lake.
