Origin Notes and History:

Adopted in the 2nd Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, 30 June 1900, described as "south of Mt Lefroy, Alberta" as submitted by the Appalachian Club, Boston, and identified on a Sketch map of the Rocky Mountains by Mr.C.S.Thompson, also of the Appalachian Club. Since confirmed as entirely within British Columbia.

Named in 1894 by S.E.S. Allen, after A.J.D.Biddle of Philadelphia; a member of the Appalachian Club who did extensive climbing in the area. (The Alpine Journal, Vol 18, 1896, p 116 (also 1897 volume pp 131-138 ?).
