Adopted 1 April 1954 on Columbia River Basin manuscript 27, as an established local name and as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer. Not listed in 1953 Gazetteer because of 14 duplications, however, as this name is an entrenched local name, BC urged that it be adopted (March 1954 letter, file C.1.54). Re-approved 1 April 1954.
