Lodge Cove adopted 7 December 1937 as submitted in 1929 by Hydrographic Service and as identified in the 1930 BC Gazetteer; not "Deep Cove" as had been labelled on British Admiralty Chart #1922, 1868 et seq, and as identified in the 1909 BC Gazetteer, and as labeled on BC map 2A, 1920. Name changed to Deep Bay 3 March 1949 on C.3586, to reflect entrenched and preferred local usage, the generic "bay" used, to avoid confusion with nearby Deep Cove in Indian Arm). Name subsequently changed to Mannion Bay.
